You've purchased your home and are getting settled. Congratulations!
Now the solicitations start arriving - one which offers you the services of obtaining a copy of your Deed - FOR A FEE. Don't be confused. This is a solicitation and nothing you should concern yourself with.
You were more than likely provided a copy of your Deed at closing. You will more than likely be sent the original Deed recorded in your county clerk's office for your records from your attorney or from the county clerk. Once your Deed is on record, there is no need to worry. If you ever need a copy, your attorney can help you or you can go to your local county clerk's office and pay a nominal fee for a copy. There's no need to break the bank for a copy of your Deed!
